The advantage of rock wool is that it has a high water retention capacity and contains a lot of air, which makes it easier for the roots to develop.

Rock wool is also light, compact and relatively cheap. Rock wool is therefore the most commonly used growing medium in greenhouse horticulture. However, it is not easy to grow on rock wool, but some knowledge is required.

Stone wool itself already has a high PH value, which is why it is important to water it thoroughly with a low PH value (5.1 to 5.5). Make sure that the PH value in the bib is never lower than 5.0. This prevents the wool from collapsing and losing its resilience. If you treat rock wool properly, it will last a very long time.
