The airpot is made of finely-woven and very durable material which is porous to let oxygen get into the root system easily.

Because of this, the rootsystem will develop much better compared to a normal plastic pot.

In a plastic pot, when the roots reach the side of the pot, they will start circling trying to find a more suitable place, resulting in long roots with only a few branches. This is lost energy for the plant and suffication of that root zone.

When the roots reach the side of the airpot, they will they will be fine-branching because there is very much oxygen present. Because of that, the major part of the available substrate is used optimally, in contrast to normal plastic pots.

Besides this advantage, there are the advantages of rapid warming of the soil by the illumination of the black color, but also cooling by evaporation if the soil gets too warm.
